My
Dear People, Crosscare at a very
practical level puts our faith into action and brings Christian love to those
people who are vulnerable, most in need and socially isolated across the
Archdiocese of Dublin. For
nearly 70 years Crosscare has been providing food and shelter, it
has been helping young people and people with disabilities, emigrants,
immigrants and the Travelling community as well as supporting the many carers in
the diocese who dedicate their lives to caring for another. Crosscare
aims to redress the harsh consequences of poverty and disadvantage. The new
economic reality in our country means that increasing numbers of people cannot
manage without the help of the caring agencies. Crosscare is
working hard to meet these increasing demands despite significant reductions in
government funding. Your support for their work is needed now more than ever. Inspired
by the example and teaching of Jesus, Crosscare design their
services to help those in greatest need. Every effort is made to reflect the
belief that every person is created in the image and likeness of God and at a
practical level this means that the services provided are of the highest
possible standard. I would like to thank you, the people of our Archdiocese for supporting the work of Crosscare each year . Wishing
you God’s blessing,
+ Diarmuid Martin Archbishop of Dublin
