Service of Remembrance for Paris  To mark the Month’s Mind, an Ecumenical Service of Remembrance for those killed in Paris on Friday 13th November 2015 will be held in the Church of the Sacred Heart on Sunday 13th December at 3:00 pm, hosted by the French Community in Ireland and the Parish of Donnybrook.  His Excellency the French Ambassador, Jean-Pierre Thébault, and the Papal Nuncio to Ireland, Archbishop Charles Brown, will attend.  The address will be given by Archbishop Michael Jackson.  All are welcome.

Order your Jubilee of Mercy packs now  Over 50,000 Advent Jubilee of Mercy Packs have been allocated to over 98 parishes and communities as of today.  Our original stock of 50,000 is gone and a new and final batch is available to order.  Please order now using download if you want your parish to be involved.  Your order will be ready for collection on receipt of request.  Please allow time for some of your parish group to assemble the packs for distribution as many hands make light work.  Three Sample Services of Reconciliation – Misericordiae Vultus – The Face of Mercy are available on www.litmus.dublindiocese.ie under the updates section.

Annual Schools’ Mass  Teachers, Staff and Boards of Management Members are cordially invited to the Annual Schools’ Mass to invoke God’s Blessing on the work of the schools on Monday 7th December in St. Mary’s  Pro-Cathedral, Marlborough Street at 6pm (Vigil Mass for the Feast Day, 8th December).  The new curriculum on Religious Education for Primary Schools will also be launched.  Principal Celebrant: Archbishop Diarmuid Martin.  Refreshments afterwards will be served in the Gresham Hotel.  All are welcome.

Advent Program in Arran Quay  St Paul’s Church, Arran Quay will host an Advent program on Wednesday 9th & 16th December which includes morning prayers at 7:45, 8:15 and 8:45 am – pop in for 10 minutes to pray; and lunchtime talks from 1:00-1:45 pm, a series of talks hosted by Irish Missionary Union.  On Saturday 12th December, ‘Witnesses of Hope – Songs for Christmas and Testimonies from the Middle East’ starts at 4:00 pm.  Smithfield Luas Stop for those commuting.

Feast of the Immaculate Conception at the National Shrine of St. Anne  Celebration of the great Feast of the Immaculate Conception at the National Shrine of St. Anne, St. Audoen’s Church, 14 High Street, Dublin 8 on Tuesday 8th December at 1:15pm.  Our special celebrant will once again be His Excellency the Most Rev Charles John Brown, Papal Nuncio.  As always our celebration will include Holy Mass, Novena to St. Anne, individual blessing with Relic to St. Anne, and Benediction.  Join us after our celebration for some light refreshments in the St. Anne’s Room.  All are welcome.

Advent Bible Programme  Two midday events to help us enrich our understanding of God’s compassion.  1. Mercy in the Psalms: How does the Old Testament portray the compassion of God in its prayer book?  2. Defence Forces Carol Service  This year the Annual Carol Service will take place in the  Church of the Holy Family, Aughrim Street on Wednesday 9th December at 8pm.  This will include the Army No 1 Band, Defence Forces Pipe Band, Il Coro Italiano di Dublino, Aoife Gibney, Sgt David Martin.  Always a joyful occasion and all are welcome to attend.

Ecumenical Carol Singing  The Annual Ecumenical Carol Singing on the steps of the Mansion House, Dawson Street will take place on Saturday 12th December at 2.30 pm.  Organised by the Diocesan Council for Mission and the Office for Evangelisation & Ecumenism.  The singing will be led by Crumlin Community Choir and there will also be seasonal readings given by the Lord Mayor Críona Ní Dhálaigh, Eileen Dunne (RTÉ), Ger Brennan (former Dublin Inter–County Player and All Ireland Winner) and Iva Beranek (Church’s Ministry of Healing).  Everyone is invited to come and join in  — beside the Live Animal Crib.

Witnesses of Hope  Songs for Christmas and Testimonies from the Middle East.  Concert performance by the Choir of Communion and Liberation on Saturday 12th December, 4.00 pm at St Paul’s Church, 19 Arran Quay, Dublin 7.  There will be a collection at the end of the concert for AVSI International aid and support projects in Syria, Iraq, and other countries.  All welcome.

An Evening of Carols & Festive Readings takes place on Monday 14th December at 8.00 pm in the Monastery of St. Alphonsus, St. Alphonsus Road, Drumcondra, Dublin 9, with the Dublin Diocesan Music Group.  All donations on the evening will be given to  the Fr. Peter McVerry Trust.

Anam Cara monthly Parent Evening on Monday 14th December from 7:30 pm to 9:00 pm in Dominic’s Community Centre, Tallaght, Dublin 24.  All Anam Cara Services are available free of charge to bereaved parents. www.anamcara.ie

Candlelight Christmas Concert at St. Mary’s, Haddington Road on Thursday 17th December at 7.30 pm.  Classicus Youth Chamber Choir with sopranos Emer Barry, Donna Gallagher and Catrina Scullion.  Tickets €15, Cons €10, Family €40.  All proceeds to St. Mary’s Music Fund 2015.
